Default Salt and Vitamin C protocol tips to follow

I am reposting this as requested by Linnysue:

Salt/C Protocol suggestions:

It is important to work up to the amount suggested. If you begin with a huge dose, you will have severe herxheimer reactions (I am speaking from personal experience after camping out on the potty for a few days...it was not fun). Please take small amounts and scale up in moderation as tolerated. Do not try to take a full dose all at once.

Here are some tips to follow:

Starting Phase:
Take 1 gram of salt and 1 gram of Vit C at 10am and 2pm. See how you feel. If you get fatigued or a little feeling of malaise, do not take any at 6pm. But drink plenty of water instead through the rest of the day and evening. Do just 2 times a day until you do not experience any symptoms.

Then add a 6pm dosage of 1 gram of each. For a total of 3 grams of each broken up and taken in small intervals 3 times a day (10:00 am - 1 gram salt/1 gram vit C, 2:00 pm 1 gram salt/1 gram vit C and 6:00 pm 1 gram salt/1 gram vit C)
Drink LOTS of fluid.

Phase 2:
After scaling up to 3 times a day and not experiencing symptoms, move up to 4 times a day (8am, 10am, 2pm, 4pm).
When the symptoms subside, add a 5th dosage at 6pm. After symptoms subside, add a 6th dose at 8 pm.
At the end of phase 2, you should be taking 1 gram of salt and 1 gram of vitamin C 6 times a day (8am, 10am, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm)

Phase 3:
After tolerance has been achieved, begin adding a 7th time interval and space the dosages out every 2 hours (you can add a 6am for example). Finally, move up to adding an 8th interval and maintain this for several days to weeks.

A person can also take triple doses in fewer time intervals such as 3 grams of salt and 3 grams of vit C taken 3 to 5 times a day (be sure to scale up). This will be a little tougher on the tummy, so be sure to drink LOTS of fluids.

I opted to take the larger doses in less time intervals.

I hope this helps explain things a little more.

Thanks Bubba
I started trying to do this shortly after i came here and got lost in all of the good info!
I recall reading this somewhere where it was listed with teaspoon and MGs, which was easier for me. Unfortunately i have nothing with gram or cc measures on it. Is that info still available.
I had bought powder Vit C some time back and have been trying to use it because it is easier to mix in a drink. Every morning I have been adding the powder to white tea. (And, i am taking so many herbals and vitamins, that a break from another pill is always good!) However, duh me forgot to write down the info on the powder Vit C, so it is a hit and miss on the amount etc. I also have been trying to add salt. I have mixed it in tomato juice to disguise it! I have not used actual salt in years, so any salt tastes strong now! Does it have to be actual salt or can you use boullion, which is really salty.
I have had a few herx reactions after the salt-major volcano erupting in my stomach and trips to the potty! But, I do not care if it gets these gone.
Bubba, thanks for coming back. You are an asset and I think everyone here appreciates you even if you are not told often enough.

Philly, here is a link to the salt Thermotabs bubba recommends:
http://www.immunesupport.com/salt_tablets.htm

Other options are to use Real Salt, a mined "pink" salt, rich in trace minerals, but still primarily sodium chloride or an unprocessed whole salt called, Celtic Sea Salt, http://www.celticseasalt.com/Celtic_Sea_Salt_C3.cfm

Bubba, thank you so very much for reposting these phases.
