Bartonella is a possible co-infection connected with Lyme. You may have heard of it as cat-scratch fever. See the links below.
Bartonella Further Complivates Lyme Disease | Jenna's Lyme Blog Lyme Disease Tick-Borne Coinfections
In truth, Polly, all of this just further reinforces my gut feeling that none of us has single, easily defined/diagnosed disease, but most likely a nasty web of coinfections. I think that this may be what Morgellons is. Now, I know that many would disagree with me, but I have found the greatest relief and best results when self-treating with the three-pronged approach of parasitic, bacterial, and fungal.
I am arming myself to go to my PC with a printout of the lyme document you recently posted, as well as a recounting of my self-treating with doxy, which is used widely to treat Lyme. I want a script for the complimentary antibiotics that I cannot obtain easily through onlines sources. I will tell him that either he takes me seriously and helps me, or I will find another doctor who will. I will not mention M. I will also continue the pulsing with antiparasitics, which have indisputedly had a huge, positive effect. And I will also continue the anti-fungals, probably alternating between the niacinamide and olive leaf extract/oregano oils. The latter have had good results as well, but because they are herbal, they take longer to show results. I saw definite positive results after using them consistently on a regular schedule for at least four weeks. I now apply the oregano oil directly to my toe and toenail area, and it is working. The inflammation is lessening and the nail appears to be "alive" again.
I will email you a very interesting link that I have used as a cross-reference to the lyme link you posted. I have modified it a bit re: the anti-parasitics. The anti-parasitics yielded some really significant (and gross) results. But I am very glad to be rid of those unwelcome guests. Because I think my infection is heavily internal and embedded, even those took awhile to show visible evidence, but finally did.
Obviously, I am not nearly as heavily researched as many of the veteran members here, and so I know that many will dispute the above. I can only tell you what is working for me. Also, I can only gauge by how I am feeling, and the physical indicators. Although I know I am not cured, I am feeling better than I have since this whole nightmare started. My symptoms are very greatly reduced. I am thinking more clearly, performing well once again at work, able to have fun and laugh with friends and family once again. I am more relaxed and have far less anxiety.
I think you indicated that there are similarities in our symptoms, so perhaps some of this would work for you too.
Check your email for the link. And again, if you want to discuss any of it, just let me know.

I have taken him in to see the doctor on two different occasions, blood work was done, and I was told it was nothing. Well tonight I broke out in a strange rash on my hands and legs. It looked like little reddish dots almost under my skin. It was flat, not raised. So in my search for answers, I found some information that has me shocked and worried for my son. It's Bartonella! The rash is almost like stretch marks on his back. It's an exact match! My question is, can he have Bartonella without Lyme or is it more likely that he's got Lyme AND Bartonella? My heart just sank when I found this info. I'm so worried for my kids. Who else has Lyme and its coinfections? I have four kids. |
