| Hi! A friend of mine has Morgellons and can't seem to get any doctors to see her, let alone treat her. Oh she did see a dermatologist who said it was "all in her head"., but that's all. On the Dr. Phil segment this week, the lady, Judith ,said it's a virus that gets into the cells and the cells emit these fibers- have any of you heard/learned that this is true? If it's a virus, how do you get rid of it? Also, how contagious is it? My friend is living in isolation right now due to Morgellons. Sorry for all the questions at once but I'm desperately trying to help her. Thanks! |

You will find much info on this on the site, just search for it. Maybe it would be a good idea if you told your sick friend about the site. She should not be living in isolation at all! My friend had it for years and I am healthy as a ox. Just like you, I was trying to help out a friend as well ![]() |

| Hi Amy, Sorry to hear about your friend having this. Great that you're helping her. We might be able to help find a doctor - Carla has a list and would need an idea of where she lives. Would your friend be able to log on here, so we can offer direct support? There are some treatment steps on here that might be useful. Its not known if/how contagious morgellons is, but there are certainly ways to reduce the risks and for your friend to feel less anxious around people. The theory about morgellons being caused by a virus may not be true. No one knows yet what causes Morgellons. The doctor targeting this 'virus' is having some success with treating morgellon lesions, but its not a cure. Hope this helps some. We are happy to help anyway we can. Jo |

| I am closing this thread out, because it has served its purpose and its really not a support thread. This way we can start or move on to more revelent threads elsewhere on the site. ![]() |
