Hi guys,

I get logged out too. I thought it was an inactivity function, cuz it seems to happen after 5 mins if I'm reading or writing something and not clicking any links.

Also - just saw there is a 'Contact us' link at the bottom of the homepage, where people can contact you Franky without logging in. Just thinking about the likes of Seasprite and Natalie who I havent seen on here yet...

Me again. Just thought to also mention that as a guest, I am unable to use search, or today's posts, etc. If I click on these without logging in, the Forum rules, register (accept site terms, etc) box comes up........... So can't even use some of the simple things as a guest.

........Just wondering if others are experiencing same thing or if it is just my pc? If it is happening to others also (ie actual guests who have never registered).... might be kinda
frustrating & discouraging for them?

After I posted several things last evening, I noticed I stayed logged in for quite a while, even
after clicking the log out button and closing my browser, then re-opening browser and bringing
up the site. Statistics box at bottom of screen showed I was logged on (but I sure was not).

This all occurred after logging out and receiving the VBulletin message box stating: All cookies
cleared ! and giving the 2 options to click on of: return to page you were previously viewing or go to forums index.

It is always a bit tricky to get used to new procedures...... but these issues are beginning to cause me to not want to even bring up the site right now... sure hope this is just my pc and is not being experienced by others.

Franky, I NOT posting all this .... AS A COMPLAINT OR REFLECTION ON SITE......
My goals are to help all of us move thru these "growing pains" faster in case others are experiencing same issues... so that all will enjoy their experiences on this site and to continue to have this great site be attractive to new folks.

note to Jo: I thought it was a timing issue too as I started this post, then when clicked on submit reply, site thought I was not logged in and I got the Forum Rules, site acceptance, register box and had to redo this post..........grrrrrhhhhh

Just a word of advice - I found the same thing happens - when typing a fairly lengthy post it will timeout to save having to write a long post twice do the following:

When you have finished typing copy the text - so hold down the left button move it from the bottom right of the entire text to the top left (The start of the text) then place cursor over the highlighted (Blue) text and press the right button - this will bring up a menu click on COPY from this - then if you have been logged out just login again go to the relevant post where you were replying to, go to the main text area click right button to bring up the menu and and tap PASTE this will then enter the text you had entered before then Submit it away.

I hope this helps everyone who types comprehensive posts.

Ok guys I think the cookies issue is finally resolved. Please clear your cookies again and log in. You may have to restart your pc as well. By the way to stop from logging out, click the the box when logging in. As usual report all problems.

Wish I had good news on staying logged in when moving to different areas of site......but I don't.....still same problem.....

not sure where in thread this is gonna post reply as I could not get to last page of thread and stay logged in...kept putting me to page 1 when navigate to last page....logs me out....grhhhhh

I did have a wonderful time with 2many on shout box and we enjoyed being able to use all our old smileys....thanks Franky.

Any clues as to why I get logged out continually when navigate to a different
area on site after initial log in?

A heads up would be nice....... so I can test again if you think I am fixed up and ready to go Franky.

btw... I have noticed when robertdodgehypnotist posts, his post boxes are larger on the right side of screen than all the rest...... how does he do that?

Franky, just wondered if there is a way for you to tell login history by member, cause if there is..... rocklady should have quite a bit of activity tonight re-logging in..... might be a way to do a general check on the population to see if others still having to do same thing?... just a thought.

Rocklady most of the members with problems are fixed now, in terms of the cookies. Try this one last time, clear everything on your browsers. Clear cookies and history etc...., then restart the computer.

Remember to click box when you log in to post, so it wont time you out. If you still have problems then it very well can be on your side. Your pc could be handling cookies in a bad way.
