this study seems to say the malady is transfered by birth. Don't they imagine it could also be the water as I am sure they get it from the tap.

Interesting, this is where a pile of rats would come in handy. Se if their blood, saliva or bodys have the fibers on them, make sure they are in a sterile area, with sterile water fed different things. Then also inject under the skin some of our blood in one segment of the ones being kept.
