Kritters -
First, there are different kinds of glass. Regular glass, as in windows, etc, allow all visible light to pass through. During photosynthesis all waves of visible light except green are absorbed by the plant.
Ultraviolet light is electromagnetic wave lengths shorter than the shortest visible wavelength (violet). There are basically 3 types of UV light - UVA, UVB, and UVC, each shorter than the next. Photosynthesis is dependent on visible light.
At the other end of the visible spectrum is Infrared. It is not visible to the human eye, either, and begins just below the longest wave of visible light (red). First is near infrared, then medium infrared, then farinfrared.
