I'm with you on that. I would go even further and say what many of the researchers have said - everyone has been exposed to whatever causes this, but it is only being expressed in certain people.
Lots of possibilities:
- genetic predisposition (either inherited or chromosomal damage from things like radiation)
- immune malfunction (not across the board, as with AIDS, but specific)
- overload of various environmental toxins (mold, chemical pollution, vector-born infections, etc)
- too many prescription drugs
These aren't discrete issues, but overlap and one may lead to another, such as Lyme leading to compromised immune function.
Personally, I don't think that any of these are primary CAUSES, but they may be issues that allow "it" (whatever that is) to take hold and grow in the body until all hell breaks loose. With me, I know I had this a minimum of ten years before it exploded.
