I would imagine that the report is still at the MRF link, cynical.
What I posted is my opinion, via research, on the findings of the report- starting off with
parasitized pine pollen.
As to lumber- it is my opinion that the trees have already been damaged so newer lumber would
already be compromised or infected. Older lumber (prior to the fungus cycle in the trees) would likely not be a problem.
A simple search of 'parasitized pine pollen' lead me to the only pollen that can and does parasitize- and that comes from the Dwarf Mistletoe found on the west coast of the US- going up into Canada (a chief source of lumber) and as far south as Mexico. The east coast counterpart is the European Mistletoe- also found in Europe- hence the name.
