JinPa, before you tear out anything at all, you ought to have a mold detection company as kritts mentioned (these companies are usually separate from the mold remediation companies to prevent conflict of interest) inspect and test your home. The company which detects mold will send you a detailed report after inspection on problems found. If mold is detected make sure the people you hire are qualified to remove affected areas of the house to insure your future health is not worsened. Incorrectly removed wall board or ducting can worsen rather than remediate mold problems. Sometimes some areas of a home can be simply be cleaned with proper mold killing products as applied professionally.
