Hi, I am new to this site.
I have been experiencing some (not all) symptoms such as crawling bug sensations (and others), which is described as Morgellon's. I have been suffering with these and other symptoms since the mid 1980's.
I read one interesting post that said, "Is the attraction simply magnetic or some other "power"?" These posts seem to wonder if Morgellon's is possibly related to an unknown phenomenon that has a power or will of its own.
We know that sensations of crawling bug under and on the skin, can be "formacation" that can be a menopausal symptom. One of the herbal books recommends eating raw beets. And there can be many other reasons we don't know yet that cause Morgellon's disease.
However, another phenomenon that most people do not know about, is called "kundalini", which is an eastern word to describe an "intelligent force" that is said to lay at the base of the spine.
Some of kundalini's symptoms and side-effects (not all) seem similar to Morgellon's disease.
Once triggered or activated (awaken), kundalini is said to rise up of thru the 7 centers or chakra system in the body. This force could be seen as an electrical force which can be very powerful or even volatile in some people. Some literature says kundalini can be risky and even dangerous.
There are many physical, mental, neurological (and even psychic and psycho-spiritual) symptoms, problems, difficulties, manifestation and sensations (many that people experience as awful, terrible weird and seemingly strange) related to a kundalini awakening or rising, that can come as a result of a too early awakened kundalini before it time.
An activation or triggering of kundalini can occur by using any one of a number of east / west practices and modalities, which can cause an artificial awakening (not a natural occurrence of it), in some people who have not been prepared beforehand, and whose mind and body is not strong and/or is capable or able to handle the extreme and often intense and sometimes volatile energies that can occur. This is why some eastern master & others have recommended that kundalini not be awakened or forced [triggered or activated - artificially]. If a person is not ready, centers are often blocked and energy cannot get thru the chakras, and a kind of short circuit can occur and all kinds of health problems can occur.
Kundalini is known to mimic various health problems, diseases, illnesses, mental psychosis and neurological. If a person has a predisposition to an illness or disease etc. they should not activate kundalini.
Psychology DSM IV was designed to address issues and problems of kundalini as a spiritual problem, although they do not mention the word kundalini. People "in crisis and suffering" are considered to be in "Spiritual Emergency or Spiritual Crisis". Some in the new age call some aspects to this as Spiritual Emergence.
I along with thousands of people the world over have, or are experiencing one or more of a wide range of symptoms and side-effects, and a wide range of pain, suffering, difficulty and problems due to kundalini.
Practices and modalities well known to activate/trigger/re-trigger kundalini is meditation, certain forms of yoga and certain forms of martial arts such as Qi Gong (known in China as Qi Gong disease). Others are: various types of energy work, breath work, rebirthing, various healing modalities, reiki, shatipat/deeksha, shamanic activity, raising kundalini and more.
Some of these symptoms and side-effects can be experienced as an unseen force that has a "will of its own", and is electrical in nature - as kundalini has been described as "high voltage" - similar to an electrical cable that is full, and when more electricity is added, it will flail around and burn up. Some literature suggests that kundalini can cause havoc on the body and especially the nervous system which can cause damage, and cause all kinds of problems in some people.
The reason kundalini often seems electrical, is that crawling bug sensations (like bug bites) can turn into sensations that feel like pricking or pin prick sensations, which often feels like an electrical prick or zap on the skin or under the skin.
After kundalini has been triggered or activated (awakened) a 1st. time, continued use of many of those same practices etc. can cause a "re-triggering" to occur, causing newer symptoms or current symptoms to be far worse often escalating in heightened activity. Even well meaning healers have been unaware that they had either triggered a 1st. time kundalini, or re-triggered kundalini again in the person causing more problems.
This because kundalini can "lay temporarily dormant for periods of time" (asleep, when nothing happens), until she awakens on her own, or is "re-triggered or re-activated" thru those same modalities etc. When she is awake she is in an "active state", her energy is said to be "up and running". When nothing occurs she is laying temporarily dormant.
This is why symptoms and side-effects occur often off and on, come and go, stop, only to come back at a later time and date. Each symptoms or sensation can last for minutes or many minutes at a time, or off and on for hours or days at a time.
Symptoms and side-effects don't always occur right away during a 1st. time activation. Delayed effects can occur minutes or hours, days, months, even many years later. That is why many people in the new age (or others who have used or delved into these modalities and practices etc.) don't often attribute there symptoms and side-effects to a kundalini awakening. Kundalini symptoms etc. can continue and last up to 30 or 40 years in some people (but not all).
Although many of the new age community know about chakras (and kundalini) from popular books, most no nothing about the real problems and difficulties kundalini that has been written about in some ancient scrolls and literature in India. Many don't believe that one can have problems with kundalini, until it happens to them, and they would not wish to go thru this again, even though the literature says this is a purifying process.
Kundalini is known as a purifier and a destroyer. She is also known as a "Blessing and a Curse", and is like opening "Pandora Box", one never knows what one will get or receive.
Since kundalini is considered an intelligent force, a few people believe it can be passed on to others around the person in active kundalini. To me this sounds similar to the way a virus works and what was mentioned in this thread. I don't know.
What I can tell you all, is that I and many of my friends have been and are experiencing weird and strange sensations as well as a wide range pain and suffering of unknown physical, mental, neurological and psychic and psycho-spiritual origin.
One of the problems is that there are relatively few teachers, practitioners or therapist who have gone thru kundalini, and is genuinely knowledgeable about this subject, or have the gift to actually see inside the body to see what is blocked. The sad part is, even knowledgeable people don't seem to know what to do to help most people going thru these problems.
Some have even suggested these things could all be from diabolical manifestations. And indeed, some eastern masters and others have experienced those kinds of manifestations during kundalini. Some Christians after being slain in the spirit have also experienced some (not all) similar symptoms (not as bad) too.
Some in the new age say kundalini is Holy Spirit, which probably originated from various eastern authors conjecturing and postulation that Holy Spirit was one and the same. Some masters and others who have experienced kundalini say its energy is dark, dense and sticky, while Holy Spirit energy is light, fine, and gentler - perhaps that is why Christians don't seem to experience the exact same thing. I have personally experienced kundalini energy as being dark and dense - and I did not like it and was awful.
Kundalini cannot be explained in a short thread. If any of you want a list of the wide range of symptoms, please let me know, I will forward them to this forum. |
