Default Demodex

Hi Pat- I'll have to get this book. We have mold in our home. I've known it becuase I can smell the musty smell from our basement. Our deck is also slimy when it rains. I wish my husband would tear it down soon. Plus the middle of our big front yard retains a wet area which is where our septic system runs underround. I don't even venture outoors much. Although, I can't say it is much healthier indoors but atleast I have a HEPA air purifier which I try to keep where ever I am. It's a hightower. My son got it for my birthday.

When the movement began on me last Oct., via googling "movement on face and scalp" I learned of demodex. Everybody has these in their hair follicles but they can over populate if a person has a compromised immune system or is taking meds. etc. I thouht for sure this must be my problem. But, they come out at night and mate on the skin, then return into the hair follicle. Some research articles relate it to Rosacea.

I do agree that "M" is a real good probability of causing an explosion of their population in people with "M" and that's when demodex become a problem. I thouht I had rosacea until my hair began to dance on the top of my head and then began to reach out to my face!! So I dyed them hoping to kill whatever was there. No such luck and the coarser whithe things did not dye.

Animals have a different type of demodex and it can cause "mange" on them.
