Here's Shoemaker's website and a few other links to pfiesteria which he and Schaller (who co-authored the Mold Warrior book with Shoemaker) were big on when I first became ill. In fact that is all Schaller wanted to look at in regards to Morgellons treatment (although mold was mentioned) at that time. That and get folks to have their whole house treated for mold and sue over it (which would be very expensive to carry out and high energy to boot--Schallers was beyond expensive and I could not afford to see him nor as it turned out did I think it seemed personally worth it). Since Bubba had posted that Pfieisteria treatment had not been enough to cure her Morgellons I did not pursue treatment in that direction (especially as the meds were so harsh and could have weakened my spleen even more).

I copied my post from Steve's old thread--since it is locked now I could not copy it in the normal way:

Re: Bryozoan Hypothesis Interesting pages about Pfiesteria:

This page discusses the protocol used for Pfiestereria detox (as used by Richard Shoemaker):

Shoemaker's website (he used to have the free eye test posted on here, just required registration to use it):

Multiple Chemical Sensitivites--many interesting references which could be useful to all: (environmental medicine references, doctor referrals--these folks might be sensitive to those who have this problem)

Here's what Dr. Bev said about Shoemaker a couple years ago:

I didn't know him in the days when I was aware of Morgellons as a separate diagnosis, but he always focused primarily on toxic molds, and was an excellent advocate for individuals with these problems--legally as well as medically.

He was never as much of an advocate for people with chronic Lyme symptoms, and did NOT believe in any long term use of antibiotics when I knew him (4 years ago.) That is why he chose to withdraw from I.L.A.D.S. He saw Lyme as a bacteria that was relatively easy to treat, within a few months.

He is an EXTREMELY smart, knowledgeable, man who really thinks long and hard about the concepts and biology of the illnesses that he is trying to treat. Some of his theories have been widely used and accepted by many other doctors, some of his theories are not as well-received. It is difficult to say if he will be proved to be a complete genius, or a bit of a pompous ***. Probably just a tiny little bit of both, when the truth is finally revealed to us.

Perhaps this will help with your choice about who to seek treatment from.
As Dr. Bev notes above he did seem a bit pompous speaking on the autism/lyme live cam that I posted on here the day it was showing (while it was still on, unfortunately to see that now I believe one would have to buy the DVDs)

Thanks Pat for posting information on burning mouth syndrome. I had that fiercely when I lived in Hawaii and no one could figure it out. The only thing which helped was going to the one air conditioned room in the house. That was when I learned that common b vitamins were based on yeast (mold) and that I could not eat brewers yeast (I was supposed to eat that, and got so much worse). Fortunately I do not have this symptom to that degree now, but I will try the sesame oil for the occasional tingle. You have a lot of good natural suggestions which I appreciate. I have never heard of this connection before and now you have me wondering if this is why the Chinese add small amounts of sesame oil to some of their dishes while cooking.
