Scabies outbreak at DCC Some scabies news:
Eighteen inmates at the Central Violation of Probation Center at DCC have been infected by scabies. That’s a parasitic disease similar to a head lice infection but which involves the skin instead of the hair. Officials discovered the outbreak Wednesday and placed all inmates who are affected under medical isolation, where they may be held for up to five days.
Clothing, bedding, towels, wash cloths will be sanitized, and mattresses and pillows destroyed to prevent further spread of the disease. All the offenders housed at the CVOP facility have been quarantined for five days, and all inmate visits canceled. |
