ogliosaccarides

...
An oligosaccharide is a saccharide polymer containing a small number (typically three to ten[1]) of component sugars, also known as simple sugars

.... A and B blood types have two different oligosaccharide glycolipids embedded in the cell membranes of the red blood cells, AB-type blood has both, while O blood type has neither.

Wonder if the blood group has something to do with different signs and symptoms of Morgellons?

....When oligosaccharides are consumed, the undigested portion serves as food for the intestinal microflora. Depending on the type of oligosaccharide, different bacterial groups are stimulated or suppressed...

....Clinical studies have shown that administering FOS, GOS, or inulin can increase the number of these friendly bacteria in the colon while simultaneously reducing the population of harmful bacteria...

..Other benefits noted with FOS, GOS, or inulin supplementation include increased production of beneficial short-chain fatty acids such as butyrate, increased absorption of calcium and magnesium, and improved elimination of toxic compounds...

....Experimental studies with FOS in animals suggest a possible benefit in lowering blood sugar levels in people with diabetes and in reducing elevated blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels..

I have mentioned this before in another post...do we all have high cholestorol and triglyceride levels?

....In a double-blind trial of middle-aged men and women with elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels, supplementation with inulin (10 grams per day for eight weeks) significantly reduced insulin concentrations, suggesting an improvement in blood-glucose control, and significantly lowered triglyceride levels....

...FOS can also be synthesized by enzymes of the fungus Aspergillus niger acting on sucrose

FOS:
Fructooligosaccharide - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

...FOS is extracted from fruits and vegetables like bananas, onions, chicory root, garlic, asparagus, barley, wheat, jícama, tomatoes, and leeks. The Jerusalem artichoke and its relative, yacón have been found to have the highest concentrations of FOS of cultured plants...

...now becoming increasingly popular in Western cultures for its prebiotic effects. FOS serves as a substrate for microflora in the large intestine, increasing the overall gastrointestinal tract (GI Tract) health. It has also been touted as a supplement for preventing yeast infections...

...The intestinal microflora in the lower gut can ferment FOS, which results in a reduced pH. Calcium is more soluble in acid and therefore more of it comes out of food and is available to move from the gut into the bloodstream.

INULIN:
Inulin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

...It can be used to replace sugar, fat, and flour. This is particularly advantageous because inulin contains a third to a quarter of the food energy of sugar or other carbohydrates and a sixth to a ninth of the food energy of fat. It also increases calcium absorption[3] and possibly magnesium absorption,[4] while promoting the growth of intestinal bacteria. Nutritionally, it is considered a form of soluble fiber and is sometimes seen as a prebiotic...

PREBIOTICS and INULIN ARE THE CLOU!!

....FOS and inulin are found naturally in Jerusalem artichoke, burdock, chicory, leeks, onions, and asparagus
