Default Tri-Salts

Here is something which may help with allergic reactions (to include itchy skin). You can find this formula on many websites. My allergist was the person who first alerted me to this product some years ago. It also can help with excess acidity:

"Reagent Grade Tri-Salts is a nutritional supplement especially designed to neutralize increased acidity. This unique buffering agent contains nutritionally significant amounts of the essential macrominerals calcium, magnesium and potassium as carbonates and bicarbonates without sodium or other salts. The minerals used in this product are of reagent grade quality and are well tolerated by the moste sensitive individuals. The Tri-Salts may be mixed with Vitamin C crystals and the pH adjusted according to individual needs.

One 1/2 teaspoon (~2.4 G) contains: Calcium (carbonate) 450 mg, Magnesium (carbonate) 250 mg, Potassium (bicarbonate) 99 mg.

Suggested use: As a nutritional supplement, mix one-half teaspoon in water or desired liquid."

I feel that part of the problem with morgellons is that people can be allergic to whatever protein the body is exposed to when it is released into the blood stream by whatever is causing this disease process. I say this because my current doctor, an infectious disease doctor, alerted me to the possibility by telling me to take a benadryl at night as I take acyclovir to quiet reactivated viral infections. Apparently viruses can release something into the body which increases allergic reactions. Allergies can also create excess body acid:

Allergies: How the Body Responds&Natural Options - Insomnia Support Forums

"The traditional allergy reactions involving the IgE - histamine response producing hay fever, eczema, and asthma involves a certain cascading of events in the body. Whenever the allergen enters the body the sensitive mast cells secrete histamine and leurotrienes and other inflammatory compounds - causing the inflammatory response. The inflammatory response begins in the cell membrane where the enzyme phospholipase A2 catalyzes the release of arachidonic acid from the cell membrane. This results in free arachidonic acid which is converted into highly inflammatory substances.

This inflammatory response results in irritated and swollen mucus membranes which secrete excessive mucus. The skin becomes irritated, itchy and may develop hives, rash or break out in lesions. Joints become painful and inflamed. Bowels may become irritated and spasmodic resulting in malapsorption. Spasms and irritability occur in muscle tissue and injury may result when antibodies bind to cell-bound antigens eventually causing cell-destruction. Mucus glands may secrete a thick tenacious mucus. Mucus membrane tissue becomes inflamed and swollen, narrowing the passageways and decreasing their flow of substances. The adrenal response may be out of balance resulting in a decrease of the body's own ability to calm the mast cell inflammatory response. This adrenal imbalance often results from an imbalance between the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems. Stress occurs in the liver from continued attempts to clear the allergens from the body and the immune system becomes overactive."

I have recently been retested for allergies and have restarted shots to see if this helps my body to fight off whatever this turns out to be. So far I do find that adding in some Western medication and treatments to those protocols I use which are more natural is helping me to recover even more. In my case natural protocols were not sufficient, especially to quiet the viral infections.
