I'm in the UK. I use the following:
For car and home - natural pyrethrum extract (from Chrysanthemums) - its biodegradeable, breaking down on exposure to light or oxygen: Natural Johnson Flea and Insect Killer 500ml
The plant enzymes sprays are great - eco vie, bug arrest, but I dont believe they kill all morg life cycle elements.
The pyrethrin spray on my cat really helped reduce itching and 'wandering dandruff' (which is dont believe is those mites).
Its important not to over use it, as it can be toxic - so follow the label instructions.

Maybe ask at the local vets about the best environmentally friendly sprays in the US.
