Default my cat has worms and ear mites....

Hi folks---

Just wanted to check in about my cat, Lucky. I've suspected for a very long time (pre-Morgellons for me) that he has ear mites, but the first vet couldn't find them. He shakes his ears all the time, poor thing.

I recently found a worm on the floor on the path to his litterbox---round, pinkish white, about 3 inches long, with what appears to be some poop residue on it.

We took him to the vet ( a different one this time) and they confirmed the ear mites---they said the infestation was pretty severe and they gave me some kind of treatment--miotic, or something--plus Drontal for the intestinal worms. The test results from the stool sample we brought in didn't show the presence of parasites, but from what I've read, these tests are not very accurate.

The treatments were to be given two times, two weeks apart. I noticed that both of us---Lucky and I---improved during the few days after treatment, but the crawling and biting returned each time.

I've taken this opportunity--while he's being treated---to be even more vigilant with our environment. I'm dusting pretty liberally everywhere with diatomaceous earth and vacuuming it up and reapplying every few days. It seems like we both are a little better overall, but today (3 days post-treatment and the full moon) I can feel the little b***ards running amok on me and I can see they're bothering him---this after three days of no crawling for me, at least.

No big revelation here---just wanting to share

hoping you all are doing okay during the full moon,
kelley
