That contradicts other things I've heard. Oh - and then there's the CD57 (I think).

Sadsack hi, I'm not sure who you are asking this question to, or how either post contradicts other things. All I know is my own experience with "lyme".
I personally have never had the CD57 test, and never had what is considered a positive test for lyme according to CDC standards.
I have had several lyme tests done, and the last two were "western-blot". I am thinking someone mentioned here in the last couple of days there may be a new and improved western-blot, but am not sure which thread, it could be this one for all I can remember....brain fog!! LOL
Like I said I haven't had a legal positive test on lyme....but I had two bands positive on the last western blot(possibly all of them, as this is the only one I ever demanded to see the actual bands on)....one was 48, on the side they say matters. I have had so many tests I can't keep up with all of them, but do have a copy of it somewhere, and it's saved somewhere on my computer as well, as I received it as a fax from the doc.
IF I PERSONALLY COULD AFFORD TO HAVE ANY TEST PERFORMED ON ME IT WOULD COME DOWN TO THE WESTERN BLOT AT IGENEX.....OR I WOULD USE DR KILANI AT CLONGEN LABS!!! That is the best I know to tell anyone, but I do not have the money, and my insurance company will not pay at either of these labs.........so, I will just have to take what I already have, which ain't much.
Sadsack....have you not had a lyme test yet at all? I have had many....all of them negative according to CDC standards. If I couldn't afford to have one from one of the two sources above, I probably wouldn't even waste my time, money, or....blood!!! LOL I wish I knew how to help, you or anyone else. Maybe someday soon.....
Niecy
