The only time I ever had anything jump off my scalp was at the beginning of my illness. Then I had something which seemed to have wings jump off and fly away. It was not that small, about the size of a fly but it flew off, never to be seen again. There was also a worm once which looked like a piece of spaghetti, about three inches long. As mentioned in earlier posts, all my symptoms of parasites were macro in size so I may not be typical as far as what I saw. It rather terrified me at the time too. Fortunately the morgs seem to have downsized over time, though the ones which remain are still visible to me. Anyway, I have never noticed that anyone itched more just by sitting near me, at home or away, not even when the morgs first started and my symptoms were at their very worst.

Also I do not think that just any flea shampoo will work. I had read that many people were not seeing any results on their morgs scalp symptoms by using the flea shampoos which contain pymethrin. In fact using they reported that using such shampoos seemed to make their symptoms worse. The flea shampoo with dimethicone appears to smother the organism (at that time mine were gray in color and were shaped like commas--I also saw grey green fuzzles).

In addition to parasites in the scalp there is also the possibility that a viral infection may be causing scalp lesions. I have noticed that my scalp itchiness (apart from the morgellons I treated early on) is getting much better over time with the use of my antiviral medication. Although herpes viral scalp lesions are supposed to be an unusual infection, considering how nearly all illnesses from the past seem to have become supersized in modern man, perhaps it should be at least a consideration for testing. I did not have lesions in the scalp, but did notice some small raised and crusted areas which bled and were sensitive. All those crawling scalp sensations I have had for years seem to be nearly gone.

Dermatitis herpetiformis is also a possibility with scalp lesions (this being gluten sensitivity which shows up on the skin). It is probably not a bad idea to be tested for gluten sensitivity. I think sometimes if I had not already been on a gluten free diet that my already severe symptoms might have been much worse.
