Here's the whole larvae, 1st instar - (which just means very young, without any antennae, eyes, protruding yet). At this early stage if the larvae is not scoped within 30 mins it may appear to just be a red filament, as the larvae dehydrates very quickly. Is the filament part of its anatomy?? - gut? breathing apparatus? - I'm not sure yet.
Its approx 1mm in length and you can make out where its two optical sensors are gonna grow.
