Gosh Hilly, I hate to say it, but it might have been a tick you saw. If you still have a pet that is. Ticks where we are have been rampant this year and the normal tick controls for pets are not working that well either. There has been a lot of rain this summer and I think I heard the same about UK. So if you still have any pets you may want to look carefully around the floor of the house and on the pet itself. Ticks also like to hide under mattresses and along baseboards near the floor.

I think the parasite issue probably varies from individual to individual, some having them and others not. This could be why different ones are seen. In my own case I am sure I have seen round worms, as they are pretty hard to miss. The others I have seen have been impossible to identify. It could be that the parasites are secondary to the infections which may cause skin lesions in people. All I can say is that the use of ivermectin over time is reducing symptoms of parasites to the point I have not seen any lately nor is there anything dropping off my skin to the floor as it used to do.
