so the pic is of my second encounter with this little monster. From the point you see, the puss in the upper part was gently removed (basically as 1 piece), revealing two holes underneath. I had not encountered staphaseptic yet. so every hour or two, I would extract the newly formed pussbloodgunk from the sore, pressing all the way around the outside of the hardened area - which is basically defined by the line made by the pealing skin - there was lots. it was like a second coming for pimple poppers! after draining it, I would drench it in 91% alcohol and then about 5 cycles of drench and sizzle with hyd.peroxide. Carefully cover and repeat later on. I've attached a picture of the same sore now. It's been about a month since the first pic.

So, about a week ago, I "went after" a morgie on my chin. And procured another infection. After the first day I had a golf ball on my chin. I looked like a Hapsburg. I used pointy nail scissors to snip openings in the lump. Draining wasn't as fruitful this time. Most of the area of the infection was like concrete. Again pressing outside the hardened area was most effective - even when over an inch away from the exit point... And after three days, ...ta da! I looked like I had a golf ball on my chin and resembled a Hapsburg. This was not good. I had trimmed back dead skin for greater access with mild success.
A good friend of mine also had one, just below her ear on her neck. She told me about staphaseptic though she hadnt used it? girls are wacky. the fourth day i began using staphaseptic and that night she opted for the hospital (naturally, no insurance) where they lanced it, stuffed it with gauze, and put her on two antibiotics. Three days later and a follow up app't for her and we're at the same point in recovery. I used the same treatment as before but coating with the stapha each time before covering. there's still a hard disc beneath the lesion, but it's not very elevated. However, if I discontinue using the stapha, it doesn't take long before I can feel the infection beginning to grow. Here's a pic of it now:

see... not too bad.

Personally, I have a lack of faith in MD's and avoid them as much as possible. In this case I think the difference is that my friend is not significantly at risk for reinfection and isn't doing much but keeping the lesion covered and basically clean, where as if i drop off on my treatment, I will get reinfected. If you're experiencing this infection, don't mess around. If you're not getting better, relatively quickly, go see a doctor.
