I could probably describe it further, but I'm getting mad about it and can't think straight. The nature of it's relationship to the fibrous material in my blood, the creepy crawlies, biting, black dots (micro-fiber balls), etc. is beyond my knowledge, but the thing is there and that's all I have to say about it.

Hi Verba1, good to see you back. I was reading your post earlier and have been searching for documents I have saved on hookworm(I have many, just in no particular order yet). I still have a strong belief that my infection involves this parasite. I don't know if you read it when I first joined the forum, but I was able to have close contact with a professor of parasitology a couple of years ago, off the record. I had a "friend" that went to my doctor(one of the many who think I have DOP) with me and told him who the professor was, and where he worked. Needless to say, he won't communicate with me anymore.

The professor had hundreds of samples from my lesions. He has been a professor for around 40 years, and he is from Jerusalem. He gave me a vial with a "thing" in it that looked like a blonde hair, about 5 or 6 inches long. He told me that day that it "looked" like a horsehair worm to him, although he was aware that they were not supposed to cause humans any harm. He said he had found dozens of them in the scabs. I still have the sample, but sad to say, there is no one I trust to let evaluate it at this point.

That theory doesn't necessarily mean that I believe that is it, or all of it, to say the least. I personally have strong reasons to believe it is hookworm that has caused all or most of my symptoms. I have gotten little white "worm" looking things out of my lesions, in tack(although I have never seen one move). I also have gotten hundreds, if not thousands, of tiny(in diameter)little black things, with what appeared to be check marks on one end of them out of many, many lesions, between a 1/4 and a 1/2" long. This is the major reason for thinking it is hookworm. That and all of my vitamin deficiencies and gastrointestinal problems.

I guess I just wanted to let you know that I am in 100% agreement with you on this involving a "worm" of somekind, even if I am wrong on the identity of it.

I spoke with the doctor at Vanderbilt University back in June. He told me that one of the doctors who has been doing research has identified the parasite, a nematode, falarial species, and that they have also identified the bacteria in the gut of the parasite. They will not release the information until it it published in a peer reviewed science paper.

I hope God has mercy on people if they are stalling for notoriety in this particular illness. Then again, maybe I don't.
I found this link for homeopathic treatment for hookworm, I wondered if anyone on the site has looked into this particular product?
