Remission is the objective, not complete cure I have had a slightly different approach to healing this illness than most of you here, since I have been working mainly within the medical system in conjunction with a lot of really great (AND NECESSARY) herbal & holistic health support and immune boosting methods. (some of which I have seen mentioned on this board.)
I am going to stick my neck out and list the treatments that I have been using, in the hopes that it might benefit someone else who is trying to decide if something is worth trying.
I am also on a couple additional pharmaceuticals for my diabetes, and some anti-depressive and psych meds to help improve
my cognition. (like that they use with early Alzheimer's--helps memory and concentration.) I won't list all of those those
here--see your doctor if you need something like that...
Tx.'s from Naturopath (a DMD) at Tigard Holistic Health Clinic:
#1- Liquid elixir of Samento (TAO-free Cats Claw) 10 drops in AM on an empty stomach, for Lyme & Morgellons treatment.
#2- Bromelain capsules (from pineapple extracts) 2 2XDay on an empty stomach, to boost immune system and fight fungal
infection of Morgellons Disease. I just recently stopped these in order to "switch around" my medications and keep friends
on their toes.
#3- Oil of Oregano capsule 1 3XDay to help fight fungal infections.
#4- Priority Caprylic 1 3XDay (balanced magnes. Caprylate, Ca++ caprl., Zn++ caprl., & caprylic acid to boost immune system
& fight fungal infections.)
#5- MSM (methylsufonylmethane) 1000 mg. 3XDay for ligaments, cartilage and joint tissue affected by the Lyme disease.
#6- "Glucose Optimizer" ("glucose tolerance factor", with Gymnema Sylvestre, alpha lipoic acid, Eucalyptus, magnesium,
bilberry, Chromium Picolinate, Fenugreek, & Bitter Melon) 1 3XDay for Diabetes.
#7- ASA (aspirin) 81 mg. at Bedtime for circulation.
#8- Ester C 1,000 mg. in AM with meal for circulation. My doc JUST changed to a vitamin C with bioflavanoids, instaed of
the Ester C I had been taking. I also use a LOT of Emergen C drink mix (lots of B vits with C) it's great for Herx reactions.
#9- CoQ-10 120 mg. 1XDay for heart and circulation.
#10- Evening Primrose Oil 1,000 mg. 2XDay for hypertriglyceridemia related to Lyme disease.
#11- Cod Liver Oil 1,000 mg. 1XDay for hypertrigyceridemia.
#11- Norwegian Fish Oil 1,000 mg. 1XDay for hypertrigyceridemia.
#12- Acidophilus & bifidus probiotics 3XDay for digestion, and healthy intestinal functioning (esp.since we are taking so
much to kill off microbes!!
#13- Grape Seed Phytosome 50 mg 2 perDay for detoxification.
#14- Grapefruit seed extract 125 mg. 2XDay on an empty stomach, to fight Lyme and Morgellons.
#15- Phyto-artemisinin 100mg. 1 4XDay for 4 days every 2 weeks to fight Babesia and Morgellons.
#16- Rhodiola Rosea 500mg in AM for lethargy & fatigue.
#17- Resveratrol Synergy from Jarrow 2XDay—a combination of antioxidants & capillary restorative herbs that are beneficial
for both diabetics and chronic Lyme.
#18- Milk Thistle Seed 500mg. 2Xday for liver detox.
The only way to take this many medicines, is to buy a couple of large weekly "pill minders" from Walgreens, and then a
smaller size daily pill minder with at least 5-6 compartments.
(1) fasting in AM, (2) breakfast, (3)lunch, -fasting in afternoon is optional- (4) dinner, (5) fasting at bedtime.
I then sit down with ALL my pill bottles and very carefully LOOK at the size, texture, & color of each pill to be sure I
can tell them apart.
Then I take one bottle at a time, and count the pills out for each day, into the two weeks separate compartments, until all
the pills have been counted out into the weekly boxes.
Then each morning, over my coffee, I sit and pour out the days' pills from one compartment onto a plate, and then sort them
quickly into my daily pill minder. Include the fasting pills for TOMORROW am—so you don't need to think when you first wake up!
This way there is no guessing if it was today or yesterday that you took your noon-time dose, because you can look at the case and see if it is empty for today, yet.
20 years ago, I could not even complete a 10 day course of antibiotics 3Xday, once the symptoms stopped reminding me; now I
am able to take pills 5Xday every day of my life if needed.
#19- I stay on a gluten-free, low lactose, low refined sugars, high fiber diet: to treat LACTOSE INTOLERANT, CELIAC SPRUE, DIABETES.
#20- I am getting Rife treatment from my Naturopath with a device called a Rifebare Machine or Resonant Photon Light Emission System made by "Rife Technology Inc. in Ottawa, Canada, based upon the technology done by Dr. James Bare D.C. in 1996 trying to recapture the original Rife machine technologies. The thing is labeled "RTI-ProGen 4050" and then on another part it says, "Model RTL-200" I think it lists for about $5,000. The frequencies that I use to specifically treat Morgellons are true, direct, and not pulsed or harmonic frequencies. I do 4181.68 for 90 seconds, 3234 for 90 seconds, 2763 for 90 seconds, 7539 for 90 seconds, and 9878.72 for 90 seconds, then repeat it immediately once again. Twice each week. The treatments seem to work well enough to cause herx reactions immediately afterwords.
#21- I also receive regular acupuncture.
#22- We are just starting a new treatment that I am very excited about with a special combination of Chinese Herbal therapies that she and her husband researched just for my Morgellon's treatment.
#23- In addition, I have been on courses of rotating treatments with oral anti-fungals and anti-biotics from my Naturopath; we have used inject-able antibiotics when my Lyme or Morgellons symptoms flare up severely (twice only.)
My insurance actually will pay for ¾'s of this stuff—That's the beauty of knowing a lot of people in the Lyme community who have been working the medical/insurance/doctor angle for several years now.
JOIN THOSE LOCAL LYME SUPPORT GROUPS, FOLKS!! We have so much in common. Their doctors are the professionals that you want to go see.
#24- I also practice a regular program of DSP cream use,
#25- menthol vapors by my bedside, (if you can't find menthol crystals, use a Sudacare Vapoplug from your local drugstore or
grocery! It gets expensive, unless you find the replacement pads for sale at half price, because they only last for 8 hours per pad!)
I recently located a new source for menthol crystals at $23/lb plus shipping, at Mountain Rose Herbs in Eugene, OR.
#25- Of course there is the essential oil use & other topicals: My favorites are Vitamin E oil or Eucerin cream with Peppermint, citronella, camphor, cedar, lemon eucalyptus, clove, lavender, jojoba, grapefruit seed, geranium, cinnamon, and tea tree oils mixed up in various combinations and applied to skin, hair, bath, etc. and Nizeral Shampoo.
#26- And all the usual & necessary washing and cleaning protocols, that we have to learn. I like the washing products that are found at citra-solv.com and bi-o-kleen.com. I use a lot of borax in my washing machine and I even add vegetable washing
solutions to my clothes washer with all my other laundry products as just one more "killer agent." I am a BIG fan of Bounce
dryer sheets--I use them like moth balls--EVERYWHERE--I try to get the kind with the highest scent rating on the side of
the box.
If anyone has a SURE-FIRE method for cleaning & purifying leather shoes, or at least some ideas and suggestions, I would LOVE to hear MORE ideas on that topic!!
#27- With my pets; I admit I don't have the final answers yet for sure --I need a better topical for long-haired cats. Both cats & dogs can go on "Interceptor" (milbemycin oxime) for heart-worm prevention. It is yet another form of our good friend ivermectin, actually--in some special proprietary formulation. I also use Frontline Plus topically (because it will kill chewing lice as well as fleas, eggs, and ticks.) I also have them wear a heavily scented herbal flea collar that I purchase at a natural foods grocery store made by PetGuard (800-874-3221) or Petguard.com. I have had excellent results with this and occasional nizeral shampoo baths for my short hair dog, BUT, I have a VERY long haired, out-door loving purebred Siberian cat that I have begun to call "Plague-Kitty" because she just loves to come in from outside and jump into my lap purring REALLY loudly so that I will pet her until she has rubbed off ALL her little nasties out of her fur, and then she hops down, pleased as punch. OH yeah, She has got this whole parasite thing figured out, alright. Better ME than HER. I am actually taking her into get a full body shave next week, because I got behind in grooming and she got so badly matted, since it's Spring Molting season... :-( OOh she's gonna look funny, but I bet she'll feel better. Poor baby.
THE END RESULT: With all of this—I am usually lesion-free, I sleep great, I am usually clear thinking and level-headed: I LOOK and act relatively normal, but I get tired VERY easily, I still have some critters that live deep inside me, and I start having relapses the day that I slow down my routines of treatment. Ah well.
I am intrigued with John Blue Skies protocol--for those of you who are familiar with him from other places that he posts. I
just have a difficult time getting any more strict with my eating than I already have--each change comes slowly and takes
time for me to accept and agree to it, or else I just rebel, I find. I need to want the change.
I have only used very simplified bits & pieces from Bubba's treatment steps. Partly because what I do already has been
working for me, and partly because I am simply too disorganized, undisciplined, and lazy to keep track of that much. (oooh,
that's gotta be a lie--look at all my stupid meds and what I do for my pets and my laundry!!) Maybe I am just
procrastinating starting this much of a new routine?? I don't know. sometimes I take one of the wonderful bathes, and then
other times I don't do anything else except rub myself down with DSP cream and grab quick showers with some Nizeral. Or
even just put on some fresh PJ's and fresh cream and a fresh menthol strip and go to bed dirty; 'cuz I am that tired...(of
course that just means that I will have to be changing those sheets at least a day earlier, because the buggies will crawl
that much sooner..)
Last but not least, here is what I believe about my illness: we can achieve remission and control of this disease, and lead
a long, healthy, happy, functional, fulfilling, normal life--like I am able to with my diabetes. However, I do NOT expect
to see a complete and total cure, that will eliminate the need for any further treatment of this disease or consideration
of it by us any longer. I expect and demand a good quality of life. I will have that. I can work and hope that some day a
cure might be possible, but that is not what is necessary to make my life fulfilling and happy, right now.
Well, it has taken me all day to just revise and re-write this from its original version, and add the extra info & other stuff about how and what I use for everything, so I guess I better try to finally get it uploaded.
