I mean, what the heck are they overlooking? There has to be a common denominator with all organisms and it's like they are missing the forest for the trees.

There was a report on bbc news last night, asking a scientist "why it has taken researchers 50 years to identify the virus/s responsible for the common cold??"
BUT NOW: they have worked out the structure of the rhinovirus. Their are apparently 5 or 6 groups of viruses that cause the common cold and over 200 viruses are playing there part in it's symptoms:

None of these diseasese are straight forward or simple are they!!!??
