Default Re: Doc Punished For Treating Lyme Disease

I agree, Redi that if for no other reason than to keep the board at bay and not give them the opportunity, the doctor should have examined the kids first. I am assuming what they didn't tell in the article is that the reason he did not is because of being in a different state. On the other hand, think about how many doctors order antibiotics for patients who call over the phone for anything from a sore throat to stubbed toe. So now this gets press and as the article said will be a set back to progressive doctors who actually have the impetus to try to make a difference. On the other hand (how many hands do we have, anyway?) possibly this article in the associated press will get the attention of people (it has already on this forum) and will possibly stir up some agitation.

While I was reading some of what Evan said I began to think of the frustration and anger we are feeling because of the CDC dragging it's feet as well as practically NOBODY stepping in to look at this disease while everyone is suffering. Then what TCM wrote about our appliances, taxes, etc. I thought, "where is the NATIONAL consumer advocate association?" What is Ralph Nader doing these days, chasing unsafe cars? I read he was scared off, whether or not it's true but I wouldn't be surprised if someone or ones representing 'special' interests made him an offer of NOTHING that he wasn't able to refuse. We need representation regarding so many things that are wrong and we have these little satellite organizations which could be so much more powerful if banded together. This is just bull**** that we have no representation. Even hardened criminals and murderers have representation.

Okay, my soap box is creaking from the weight of my big mouth.
