My lips became bright red, swollen, and numb along with intense pain. I believe this mechanism is used to numb small critters or even fish in the ocean (I did catch this from eating fish, so I cannot talk about what anyone else may be experiencing with this, but this is my take on it and why it might happen). I think this is most likely why there are neurotoxic effects from this illness. Also this is probably why morgellons is is so painful for folks, but somehow no one here has to my knowledge described the larger critters I have saw at the beginning. So it is necessary to use a microscope as you have--maybe it was because the ones I was exposed to originally were quite large in the fish itself, don't know. I did not see anything, but then the fish had a sauce on it that day. Maybe to hide the cheap fish that restaurant probably bought.

An old herbalist told me that fish parasites hook together and are the hardest to eradicate in the body.
