I want to make it clear that this is not my position on this image. I strongly believe that the objects in this image are myxozoans, a parasite of the bryozoans. The fibers themselves I believe may or may not actually be alive. It is known that in some species of bryozoan, the spiculates(hair-like rootlets) themselves are actually another life form of the bryozoan just as the avicularia, the vibraculum, the kenazooid, the gonozooid, the rhizooid, and the autozooid are.
